I want to know how you get
I want to know how you get your site to load in about 2 seconds. I've tried your tips and it seems to help a little, but My Site still takes a while to load. I've looked through others in the showcase and a lot of others seem to have this issue as well. Maybe I'm just impatient, but most of these drupal sites appear to take a while to load, which could be a turnoff to new users and returning users. Is there something else I should/could turn on/off to speed my site up? Could it be my host? It's hosted through a godaddy multiple hosting account. I know many around here are anti-godaddy, but I don't have any problems with them for the price/features they offer for the casual web builder. Sure, I hope my site(s) will be more than casual someday... and I'll worry about that when/if I get there. I have other sites hosted under the same plan using other software (forums) and they load much quicker.
Any thoughts?

It looks like you're doing well on the code/design side, I don't see any problems there. Most likely you're seeing database-related slowdowns. My suggestion would be to try hosting with someone other than GoDaddy. I always recommend these guys. They've got a 30-day money back guarantee, so you don't have to worry about losing money if you don't see big improvements.

I've never transfered a site
I've never transfered a site before, but your site is very quick so I may give it a shot. Is it hard to transfer from 1 host to another?
BTW, I know how to use FTP and some SQL, so I'm not completely out of it, I've just never transfered an entire site.
Do you know about this though; I have my sites hosted at GD as...

- site 4....
I have 4 sites within 1, but they are aliased to their own URL. Is this how AN works for their "Host 20 domains on 1 account" as well?
I ask because I think it would make transferring much easier.

It's not hard. You just have to export your database and then import it to the new host. Then of course you'll need to change the database path in your settings.php file. Googling "export mysql," etc. should give you plenty of info.

I'm OK with exporting DBs. The settings.php file is what I needed, thanks. The only other program I use is SMF, so I would need to figure out which file to change there and the rest should probably be pretty easy.
However, I know how to direct my domain at GD to a new DNS, so my (probably) last question would be; would I set everything up at the new site and use a temporary URL while I set up the new host?
All you would need to do is
All you would need to do is upload your site and your database to the new host, while leaving the current site intact. Then once you're ready to go live, point your domain name at the new host, and then initiate a domain transfer if you plan to get rid of your old account altogether. Does this answer your question?

Except when it comes to the upload part. urrently I use mysite.com + password in my FTP client. Technically I will not have a "site".com on the new site until I either, change the DNS or transfer altogether. So, (I don't recall the name) will I be using numbers (i.e. xx.xxx.xx/...) to upload to until I transfer the domain?

The new host should provide you with a temporary subdomain or ip address. I'm sure they'll have documentation on how to upload your site before you have a domain name.

I can probably figure it out. Thanks for the help. They appear to bill yearly only, so I may need to wait a few weeks before joining. Then I won't pay again for 15 months :-)
its godaddy, i recently
its godaddy, i recently moved my sites from there, they limit resources which makes data based run sites load slowly.
