Opportunity to work in Singapore as full time Drupal developer

deanloh - July 7, 2008 - 17:52

We are expanding at the speed of light (for lack of anything faster) and it's come to the time for us to call in the right candidate to champion the Drupal department in our company; actually we do not really have such department but we use Drupal a lot in our projects, so naturally we need someone to be the lead Drupalist.

We are not Fortune 500 companies (yet) therefore we couldn't offer to fly you to Singapore in the latest Airbus 380, neither can we afford to offer you a 20-bedroom mansion with 12 dogs and 20 servants in it. But if we work hard together, this may one day become reality (it's always good to think big!) So if you see the possibility of moving to Singapore while continue doing the job you love (I assume you have been a big Drupal fan.) Drop me an email at drupal@deanloh.com and we'll see how can we take it further!

Just to add on to it. I have received couple of emails offering their outsource services. While I appreciate the offer, I have to clarify that I'm aware of the possibility of outsource. And I would have if I wanted to go for the option.

I have been in the business for 3 years now and I have tried all sorts of way to get things done, outsourcing has by far given me the most headache and sleepless nights. Apart from the time difference, there can be a lot of time wasted on passing information thru and fro. Supposedly a small tweak that requires only 15 minutes to fix, it can at times take up to 1 day for the other party to get back to me, think about the time loss and how much more could be done.

On average I work on 4-6 active projects in a month, I have to increase the efficiency and speed up the output, I will consider outsource only when I took up a job that requires specific skill yet does not justify the cost of increasing a headcount. Otherwise, thanks and no thanks.

the option you have chosen

the option you have chosen is the best of all as far as i am concerned..outsourcing requires a lot of skills combined with hardwork and passion for making a difference..you need to work around the clock and there wont be any time to take care of the family as well as your health..so considering all the fact the option you have chosen is quite good..
