Hi, I reopened an old topic about this, but it hasn't been responded to, so I'll post here. I'm running 2.4 and when I try to send to all members, I receive the error "1 errors encountered sending message. Please check the logs and try again." There is nothing listed in watchdog about this. This only occurs on our "all members" list which sends to all registered users (about 100). It has only recently started happening, so I manually sent mails to new members to check if any are broken, but they all go through... any other thoughts on why this is happening, or any way that I can drill down to find what email address is causing the problem?

Have you verified that all of the old addresses still work? The only way I know of to narrow it down would be to create progressively smaller groups and send e-mails to them until you narrow down the errant address(es).

Are you using the Mime Mail and/or SMTP Authentication Support modules?

What is your operating environment, i.e.: OS & version, webserver & version, database & version and PHP version?

I just went through all the issues filed for this module looking for this problem and any possible solution. What I found was this:

Problems when sending e-mails with addresses in the form of My Name <myemail@example.com>.
That was fixed and included in the 5.x-2.4 release.
Various problems with the SMTP Authentication Support module.
Those should all be fixed and included in the 5.x-1.0 release.
Limits set in the php.ini file on the number of e-mails sent at a time or at all.
You'll have to look through there and see if that's true.
Limits set by your ISP on the number of e-mails sent at a time or at all.
You'll have to ask them to see what they are.
Bad e-mail addresses.
You'll have to go through each one, one at a time, to see if that's true, and to see which one(s) are not working.

That's about all I can come up with. Check out and answer my questions.

Hi

Thanks for following up on this.

1) All my e-mail addresses work.

2) No. I am not using Mime mail nor SMTP Authentication Support modules.

3)

OS = Red Hat 7.0
Webserver = Apache 1.3
Database = MySQL 5.1
PHP = PHP 5.2

4) No limitations on number of mails sent.

For now I am using the advanced user module to send out the mails (with success) because I needed the functionality now.

I will check back on this module again :)

I discovered my hosting provider had a limit on the number of emails sent out (they say it's 100 per hour). I decided to fiddle with the "Max number of users before breaking up the e-mail" setting and set it at 50 (instead of 0) and now it's working like a charm. Thought I'd post here in case others are experiencing the same issue, that it's another thing to try.

I am having the same problem. I have a question in to Dreamhost to find out whether there's a limit to the emails per hour.

Any other ideas on how to resolve this?
