I get the icons showing, and Safari pops new browser as expected on external link. Firefox V3 on Mac though, creates a new tab. In my use, I've got music running and that'll probably be a problem for some users since it'll continue to run. Thanks for any suggestions.

This is default behavior for Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Since the browser ultimately gets to determine how JavaScript is interpreted, I don't think there's anything external links can do about this change. The opening in a new tab or in a new window is determined by the option setting in Firefox, screenshot attached.
