Hello,

I'm using the [pushbutton] theme on my site http://www.computerquestionhelp.com I wish to create a separate custom block in the horizontal blue bar at the top of my page that says something like:

Hello, <a href="http://www.forums.computerquestionhelp.com">Please click here to visit the forms!</a>

But the problem is every time I made a block, there is a icon that is listed at the top. The same icon that shows on all my other blocks shown on my site. The icon that looks like a small square arrow. Obviously my custom block would look like crap with that image there. I only wish to insert text with a link into the horizontal blue bar at the top of my page.

Perhaps I should go about doing this a different way besides using a custom block? If so, what file would I pico in shell/edit in notepad to add my text with link code?

Seems a bit confusing when I type it out I guess, if anyone has questions please post. I'll be watching this thread as work this evening.

Regards,

Couldn't find the edit feature but I would like to add some additional information. I was thinking I could just use <none> as the title in the custom block. However, the custom block image from the customized theme still shows. So then I thought I could just remove it entirely but I like the image to be shown on my other custom block like where my google adsense is, and the navigation.

Thanks again,

The CSS selector that is generating that icon is: ".block .title h3" - so look for another selector further down that would apply only to that block and then set the css for the selector to "background: none".

Tip: use the Firebug Firefox plugin.

If you still need help, enable the block with the icon showing and someone may be able to examine your site and tell you a selector to use.

If you use firebug (a Firefox extension) you will find the image is add by this rule in style.css, line 395: .block .title h3. Generally blocks are in regions and regions generally have id's so if we assume the region id is 'header' you would add this to the end of you style.css file and it should remove the image

#header .block .title h3 {
  background: none;
}

You will want to replace 'header' with the actual name of the region.

I totally understand what your saying. However, after downloading Firebug plugin I don't see where it says what ID the image in my custom block is? I right click the area and inspect element and I only get:

<div id="block-block-2" class="block block-block">
<div class="title">
<h3/>
</div>
<div class="content">

With H3 being selected in the Plug In. I have tried numerous things in my ./themes/pushbutton/style.css
file but it won't seem to ignore the image at the top of my block. I have left the image on my page if anyone cares to inspect.

<div id="block-block-2" class="block block-block">

This appears to be my hint but I have tried about every combination in the example given from the last responder. Can't get it to hide nothing. I'm missing something obvious...

Some things I have already tried...

#block-block-2 .block .block block-block {
  background: none;
}
#header .block .block-block-2 {
  background: none;
}
#block-block-2 .block .header {
  background: none;
}

Thanks again for the comments!

#block-block-2 h3 {
  background: none;
}

Also, be aware that the examples you've given above are not referring to the block. Let's take the third one: #block-block-2 .block .header. This is referring to something with a class of header that's inside something with a class of block that's inside something with an id of block-block-2.
