I made a subtheme of my original theme changing only the stylesheet
In the .info file of the sub-theme i've specified the parent theme as suggested in the documentation.
When i change the theme the stylesheet loads nicely, but i loose all block settings (all blocks in the the subtheme are de-activated)

any ideas?

you need to reset the blocks for each theme.
