Description
Just dropping this in the queue as a vote for sms receive via clickatell. I have the current dev version up and running on a test site and the send function works great. Read the roadmap for 1.1 and like what I see.
I am willing to help test and document as required.
Thanks to tyler/raincity/et al for the work on this module.

Coby

Hi Coby,
I'm totally behind this. The issue is a lack of resources for testing. Clickatell requires that users in the US rent a short code at a pretty substantial cost per month.
#2
hmm... i read you could get a standard number as long as you were not doing more than 500 per month? yeah, current rates are about 1200 per month for a short code. not in my budget either. let me see if i can get more info from clickatell.

took a few emails back and forth with them but i am being told you do indeed need a short code in the US. not in my budget right now either. time for more options.

Hey coby,
Would it be possible to get an international longcode from the US? The location of the number shouldn't affect its ability to be used over the internet. This might also help us improve international support.
#5
good question. i am in the middle of a big project, but can run this down after next week.
#6
For testing purposes, you could share a shortcode, and test with a keyword (does the SMS module support this yet?)? I was just looking at SumoText about this. About $80 a month?

Moving to Drupal 6 development branch.

I was told by a rep at Clickatell to just get a short code and it includes a 30 day trial. I still don't have maintaining a short code in my budget and we would need to coordinate efforts if we are going to work on it using the 30 day trial approach.
I have not looked into using @diggersf's suggestion of going with an international number.
@smokinggoat this issue is really looking to test Clickatell's API for receiving. But broader gateway support would be nice. I now have FrontlineSMS on my list of projects to play with.
I suspect this is not as much a technical issue as it is monetary.
I am still willing to help coordinate efforts using a trial short code account but do not have the chops to code it all.

What is the address of the SMS gateway area I fill in on my two-way admin page in my Clickatell account? Is it www.mysite.com/smsgateway/in or something?
Also is there any documentation anywhere on how to set this up and what you do within Drupal having enabled the module and done the Clickatell gateway form? I'm keen to get my users to SMS content into their blog in particular.
Thanks,
Pete

Hi all,
Just FYI, I intend to get working on full receive functionailty soon (including receiver MSISDN passing) for the Clickatell module, and will post the patch as soon as I am done. I have just finished the Txtlocal gateway module, which is currently sitting in the issues queue.

Looking forward to your patch for Clickatell. I am checking out your work on the txtlocal one now, so far so good.

Cheers Jeff!
Have just finished the Clickatell module update, but waiting for credentials from a colleague to perform testing. Will post as soon as I am comfortable with it.

I'll assign this ticket to myself for now, and will close once the updated Clickatell module has been approved.
