Hi ,
I am using Drupal 5.7, i had run the cron job first and index the site by /admin/settings/search and clicked for Re-index site, and it says...

0% of the site has been indexed. There are 17 items left to index.

whatever i typed it says "Your search yielded no results"...

Please tell me where does the things goes wrong??

Try running Cron jobs. I've found that Drupal gets its act together and indexes my pages when I run cron.

Set your cron to run every hour and when this is run the search module will index your items at a certain rate that you can determin in the search module settings.
