yui apparently seems to be very promising.
what about having the "Image Upload" component interacting with the image module instead of the upload module?
eg: users tend to ruin layouts if you give them a chance.
users tend to kiss solutions too.
putting both together makes a tighter integration of yui and drupal in the case of image upload.
using the image module instead of the upload module as a requirement for the yui upload feature could give more control over the image size at least. the site admin could configure the size of the image that is uploaded by yui.
it would be great to simplyfy yuis upload panel in a way that certain presets are done by the site admin.
image size, target window, text flow...
would love to that.

Hi markus. As you can understand by my late response i am currently very busy. Hopefully if i have time in future or when someone joins us at that time we can consider you feature request.
