Not sure if this is the correct component.
It would be nice when setting the email address for drupal to use when sending messages you could set the following:
username: user@drupal.org
password: drupal
SMTP Auth
So that when messages are sent on servers not using phpsuexec. Messages won't appear to be sent by nobody@server.hostingcompany.com. Instead with this request it will be sent by user@drupal.org

AbsurdDoctor commentedIf you visit admin->settings, you should see a box where you can set the "from" email. Does this do what you are looking for?
