Changing Label of Date and Time in a CCK field

Is there a way to change the labels "From Date" and "To Date" in a CCK date field as it appears to the end user? I have created a custom content type for my school's web site for teachers to post homework assignments. I'd like for the label to be "Date Assigned" and "Date Due" so that it is more intuitive for teachers to fill out. I am hoping it won't require a code hack but if that's the only way to do it then that's what I'll have to do. I'm new to Drupal and haven't wrapped my head around the code organization because I'm not a strong coder.
