I've googled Drupal/Facebook related stuff for the last hour but have not been able to find concrete information about integrating Facebook into my Drupal site (perhaps I didn't search smartly enough).

I would like to use Facebook, but rather than just providing a link to Facebook, I would like Facebook to be displayed within my site, so that visitors won't have to leave my site.

Is this possible (and legal). If so, then how?

There is always the iframe tag; whether it is will work is another matter. You may want to check with facebook regarding the legality of such a move on your part.

Hmm.... thanks for that bwv. The legality could be a prob. I'll see if I can get onto facebook for a reply on that.

Any other ideas anyone?

I have contacted Facebook and received the following reply:

Thanks for your interest in featuring Facebook on your site.
Unfortunately, our Site Terms prohibit this -- please refer to the legal
verbiage below:

Specifically, the "Proprietary Rights in Site Content; Limited License"
Section says the following:

No Site Content may be modified, copied, distributed, framed,
reproduced, republished, downloaded, scraped, displayed, posted,
transmitted, or sold in any form or by any means, in whole or in part,
without the Company's prior written permission, except that the
foregoing does not apply to your own User Content (as defined below)
that you legally post on the Site.

Shame about that.....
