I have just installed Find User and am I right that there is
1. no wild card option?
2. No possibility to search in the other fields of Drupals built in profile?

1. For the username search, there is automatically added a wildcard at the end of the submitted string. For the email address, no wildcard is used to prevent email harvesting.
2. Can't tell you that, I've never used finduser with profile fields.
