What a nice module. Works in exactly the way I've desired for some time.
An additional bonus, both in terms of human readable URLs and of SEO would be:
1. At the moment there is the option of redirecting Taxonomy terms to taxonomy_vtn. Really useful and essential IMHO.
2. The URLs in the redirects are not very human readable or SEO friendly. taxonomy_vtn/term/6 works. But it does not look or SEO well.
Solution:
Redirect to a URL like /tax-tag/vocab-name/term-name
That would be sweet.

We won't work on this. It could be the purpose of another module that generate a large list of URL aliases that map to categories and terms as you mentioned.
