Both 5.x.1.0-alpha5 and 5.x-1.x-dev.tar of Advanced Profile give the error message: "An error occurred while attempting to process the pane configuration modal form" when attempting to add content to the userprofile after upgrading to the 5.x-2.0-beta5 version of Panels.

It's a panels issue, and they're well aware of it, so no need to have another issue for it here.
