right now file attachment for pdf file is limited to 1mb, in fact we need to attach larger pdf file up to 5 or 6 mb. any guru may show me how?

generally can be adjusted through Administer > Site Configuration > File uploads unless you are building the module yourself which can then adjust by adding '#size' field to your upload box.
