Hello,
I'm just testing this modul on a fresh D 6.3 installation.
When I save a node without an attached file I get this warning:

warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/d63/sites/all/modules/private_upload/private_upload.module on line 445.

I think this is not a big bug but this warning will confuse users.

I get this to on a new site I am developing in D6.3, just to let you know it is not specific to one person or site.
