all kinds of missing style elements

I wanted a dark background theme for my site, this looked to fit the bill, but I found all kinda missing and broken elements.

'calendar' was unusable, i've added all the appropriate colors for that, tables looked horrible, lots of stuff had white-on-very-light especially in the admin side of things, 'sticky' overlapped the menu frame, etc etc. there may be more I've yet to identify but this is a decent start.

also, the menu bullets were black-on-black, I inverted the ones from garland and moved them to the theme/img folder and fixed the references, but i've not attached that mod.
