I hope we can land one of those titles. Would be great to win the 5th category :)

Agreed, getting 5 would be awesome. Getting 2 and 4 also would be a big boost for Drupal.

It would be great to win the 5th category, but I hope to see drupal as winner of the 1st category.

Drupal didn't land any of the prizes. The winners can be seen at SF.net's 2008 Community Choice Awards page.

Ouch. That sucks.. The voting process was kind of cumbersome (required OpenID if I remember correctly), so maybe people just couldn't be bothered.

I didn't find out about it before today, so...

But also, we were competing against giants like OpenOffice.org (1.-3.) and Linux (5.) and a general purpose one such as NotePad++ (4.). All of these are probably used by, if not most then a good sized chunk of the Drupal community alone. Add to that all of those outside the Drupal community using them, and it won't really be a surprise. Drupal is (still?) too much a niche/speciality to make an impact against any of those. But perhaps next year? ;)
