Hi,
in which way Open Calais is better/different from Yahoo Terms?
Will you support the same features they have on the excellent Tagaroo for Wordpress (http://tagaroo.opencalais.com/)?

irakli commentedHello,
neither is better, per se. The two employ different approaches to an NLP problem. Yahoo Terms Extraction uses statistical frequency analysis to extract terms, whereas Calais matches words in text against its pre-defined ontology of terms. Due to this differences, Yahoo TE can extract broader range of terms, but it can not do what Calais can - group terms into contextual groups. For instance, when Calais finds "Italy" in your text it can tell you that Italy is a Country. Yahoo TE can not do something like that. Calais is capable of identifying other complex relationships among the terms, as well.

irakli commentedWhich features of Tagaroo, that are not supported in the Drupal module, do you have in mind?

sam6 commentedThank you for the excellent answer. Give me a little time and I will post my notes about Tagaroo/Calais for Drupal here.
Thank you for offering such a nice product to the Drupal community.

sam6 commentedTagaroo has only one feature missing from Calais for Drupal: the capability to search for meaningful images from Flickr. Calais is such a big thing it is difficult not to get excited about its potential. The image search would make it even more useful. I am sure it will come to Drupal sooner or later.
Thanks again
