I just changed my Drupal 6.2 database to use prefixes, following the instructions in "Beyond the basics" (http://drupal.org/node/195758). The change appears to be successful, but I found that the table "sequences" discussed in step 10 does not exist.
I browsed the forums and found references which indicate that sequences is probably going to be retired, but as of Drupal 6.x, it is still being used. What is happening here? Is the table legitimately absent, or is my installation missing something it should have?

A fresh install of Drupal 6
A fresh install of Drupal 6 won't include the {sequences} table. However if you upgrade from 5.x then I think it won't be removed...
