After updating to the latest CVS fixes (8/05/2005), the left column still drops, creating whitespace when using the Internet Explorer Browser (This seems to happen on certain pages, like the home page where the mission statement is displayed and a right column is also visible).

I think this would be the highest priority item we have in the queue at this point. I don't have IE though. If anyone has IE and has some example code that might fix the problem, feel free to post a fix.

I can't seem to duplicate this anymore. Perhaps something else I fixed (or someone else fixed) along the way has cleaned up this issue.

If you are able to replicate this with the latest CVS (as of OCT 27 2005 3:08PM EST), please re-open this bug. I did check this with IE6.

Occy, did you try the viewing the home page with blocks enabled in the right-column? This is where the problem still exists for me. For some reason, the left column only drops with the Mission statement block in the center and a right block enabled in the right column. Since this is still hapening, I'm reactivating.

One other detail... I have the event module installed and the calendar block enabled for the left side-bar/column. I have even modified the calendar block so it is narrow-- using shorter day abbreviations. However, this does seem to cause whitespace in the left column on the homepage with a mission statement and right block enabled (fresh install of cvs CivicSpace theme and Drupal 4.6.3).

Hi again,

I have asked that a patch be made to the Event module to allow for skinny display. Noone yet has done it. I don't know how to code or I would do it myself. You need to file a bug against the event module. Not the CS theme.

You have to grab the latest version of the theme from CVS. I have test extensively on IE6, and do NOT have this problem. You need to delete your current version and install, again, the latest from CVS. Hop on #drupal-support on irc.freenode.net if you need help with getting the latest from CVS.

I don't think you understood my post: I modified the event module to display a skinny block. I fixed this by hand so it shouldn't be an issue.

I've just downloaded the latest code from CVS, put it in it's own directory (civicspace-cvs), enabled it and used via my user profile. I'm still getting this error. Please find the attached screenshot.

I agree the whitespace problem exists. Also in FF version 1.0.7.

I fixed the problem by moving the login bar to the right side column. There must be some conflict between the size of the login block and the width of the left column...

moving the user login block to the right column resolved the issue for me, too.
