I'd like to create a news page - something like http://nodequeue.demo.logrus.com - but it's a bit more complicated.

I'd like to show the first two element of a nodequeue list as teaster and the rest as list. For example imagine that the "World box" at the frontpage of the demo looks like this:

How can one do this?

Should I do two view (a teaster and a list) of the queue?

Should I use mini panels?

Should I use variations of Offset and Number of Posts?

Where to start?

You could try to use a two-column panels page containing two view panes.

Thanks for your suggestion! Should I create a views pane for the teasters and an other for the list? I trying to use views panes but I have som problems with them - see #284297: Not able to add Panels View Panes to panel page

Could you give some more detailed information (how to set the views panes)?

A possible solution:

Set the nodequeue and the views as at nodqueue.demo.logrus.com.

Enable legacy views.

Create a mini pane, from the flexible layout with two column (for example 60%, 40% width)

Left column:
First add the view as: embedded, Link title to view, Num posts: 1, Offset: 0; Argument: the ID of your required taxonomy term.
Then add the view as: block, Link title to view, Num posts: 3, Offset: 2; Argument: the same taxonomy term ID.

Right column:
Add the view as: embedded, Link title to view, Num posts: 1, Offset: 1; Argument: the same taxonomy term ID.

Then enable adding mini panels to panel pages and add this mini panel to the panel page.

That's all, and it works for me! :o)
