Organising content - missing something simple?

Hi

I have a content type called 'Resources' and it uses a vocabulary term structure like this:

Graphic design (7 items in total)
-- Learning resources (2 items)
-- Useful tools (3 items)
-- Vendors (2 items)
Copywriting (10 items in total)
-- Learning resources (1 item)
-- Useful tools (4 items)
-- Vendors (5 items)

and so forth... same three sub-categories for each heading. Simple.

Now I need a directory page for Resources. The main headings (Graphic design, Copywriting) should just be headings - not clickable.
When a visitor clicks on a sub-category (eg. Learning resources), they should see a list of relevant content titles to select from.

I'm still learning Drupal, but I don't think Views is good for this because it lists content items, not terms. So I'm trying to use Taxonomy List module but results aren't ideal - all headings are links, so visitor clicks on Graphic design and gets nothing. (Also, I can't control how content is listed, say if I wanted teaser list for Learning resources but title list for Vendors... but let's not ask for too much at once here!)

Am I missing something obvious? Any advice appreciated!

Thanks, Jason

I like views for this type

I like views for this type of thing. Check out the views bonus packs, too. Take the time to experiment and you will get it. There's lots of great documentation on this site.
