I have searched on the web and don't see any feedback for this module, and there are no issues posted in the issue queue.
Has anyone deployed this module? What was your experience? Has anyone else looked at the module's security?
No offense intended to the developer - It sounds like an excellent idea, I would just be hesitant to implement a module with no community activity.
Thanks!

gcsolaroli commentedI have tried using the Hashcash module on our site, with the following (ongoing) results:

sdrycroft commentedIt's open source software, download it, read the code, work out what it's doing (the code is fairly simple, so it shouldn't bee too tricky to work out what is going on) and feel confident that this is a genuine module which could/will help protect your site from 'lazy' spammers.
The module is deployed on all of the sites that I maintain, so rest assured that I have a large number of users, and have thoroughly tested the module.
I'd be interested in your comments if you do actually try the module, any feed back, good or bad, is greatly appreciated.

sdrycroft commentedGiulio, I'd appreciate it if you could try version 1.3 of the module on your site, and see if that solves the "Your hashcash string is not valid. Are you a spammer?" error.

sdrycroft commentedScrub that, try 1.4, as it adds an entry to Drupal's watchdog table if the hashcash fails. Assuming you get the same error messages as before, can you please post the hashcash entries from your site's logs.

gcsolaroli commentedHello, I just realized that I was using version 1.2 of the Hashcash module. I am installing the latest 1.4 version right now. I have also downloaded the 1.3 version, just in case.
I will keep you updated on the outcome of my tests.
Update: the version 1.4 seems to work much better; I have been able to post comments without any issue. Now I just need to see how much spam goes through.
