Is there anyway to have the lightbox2 work in conjunction with the fivestar voting? We are trying to the fivestar voting in that lightbox which has images inside it. Any ideas or comments on the feasibility?

There's no way to do it really. However, if the fivestar widget is available on the node page, then you could use the "HTML content" (aka rel="lightframe" display method, and then use the page-node-lightbox2.tpl.php to customise the node output, e.g. image and fivestar widget.
