It would be great to be able to include an explanation/description on the registration form of what is included in the newsletter.

I also needed this and created a patch. The patch also includes another feature so I am pointing this issue to that one and flagging this one as duplicate.

The patch is in #288244: Descriptions of newsletter in registration form plus configurable weight.
