This module works exactly as needed here, however, after a user creates a new node and it is waiting for approval, there is no way for the user to get back to thier node except by writing down and keeping a copy of the url. Or perhaps I am over looking something, if so let me know.

Can you suggest a simple way to be able to give the user a linked list of thier current nodes awaiting approval? I was thinking some kind of query or view, but I am a drupal nubi so I would appreciate any suggestions.

You could write some code so that every user can see her/his posts regardless of status.

On second thought, you are saying they can see it.
They can do track navigation to see their own posts
