How about an option to disable (a) a filter (b) filter set. A simple checkbox would do it.
If I don't want a filter to operate, as far as I can tell, I must delete it.

Once I create a filter, I can't seem to over-ride it; after editing a filter, it doesn't seem to take affect. Even if I delete a filter, it seems to be remembered.

How do I edit or re-set a filter?

Title: Option to disable filters » Option to disable replacement rules

I think it would be a good idea to have the possibility to disable single replacement rules (I am using the terminology used by the Drupal 6 branch of the module).

In Drupal 6 is possible to disable a filter in each of the input formats it was used in.
