If you open the admin/settings/lightbox2 page, and open the "Page Specific Lightbox2 Settings" fieldset, there the description says:

List one page per line as Drupal paths. The % character is a wildcard. Example paths are "node/add/page" and "node/add/%". Use front to match the front page.

The description is misleading. The asterisk "*" character is a wildcard, note the percentage "%" character.

Fixed in CVS and will be included in the next release. The % character was the wildcard in the D5 version. I forgot to update the help text when it changed in D6. Thanks for spotting this.
