Unable to update from 6.10 to 6.12

I have tried deleting the old version 6.x-2.10 multiple times, adding new 6.x-2.12. no good.
Tried overwriting 6.x-2.10 with 6.x-2.12 using ftp overwrite files. No good. After running update.php it still shows 6.x-2.10.

Did you have cache activated? If so you will need to MANUALLY FLUSH it in case of D6.
Go to admin/settings/performance and press the "Clean cached data". It is suggested to use default theme, MANUALLY REMOVE all existing contented7's data, flush cache, replace theme with new version, then reactive the theme with new version.

Thanks that was the issue and after flushing cache all is good.
