It should be using Javascript to send you onward.
Are you getting javascript errors on the page?

It seems that this issue was due to the hacking to Javascript applied to my theme.
Now that the hacking is disabled, Quick menu works as it should.
It sends me onward automatically as soon as I select a menu.
