Introducing Myself!

icraigery - July 19, 2008 - 04:54

Hey everyone! My name is Craig and I'm a new drupal developer that is trying to get used to everything. I'm trying to develop a website to satisfy the needs of airline pilots. Here is a brief description below.

1. Each member can create and manage their own blog.
2. A very powerful forum for members to chat in (SMF or phpbb)
3. Commerce/auction system
4. Layout that can host ads
5. Image gallery/video gallery that can be posted into by all members
6. Membership system.

It's going to be an exciting project! I hope to meet many of you along the way!

Hi Graig, Welcome to our

Hi Graig, Welcome to our big Drupalist Community. Glad to welcome you here. I'm helping in Forum and starting a Newcomer Tutorial Site. It's just a beginners project, but I will help you as much as I can with my modest Drupal Knowledge. You will find here many volonteers that will give you hints, suggestions, alternatives to what ever you need to know about Drupal. To search more effectively, try possibly to find a subject for your query first and do a Google search ( subject or short frase site:drupal.org ) you will mostly find out of the search result a lot of similar query.

Cheers

Good luck with everything

Looking at your list of tasks for your project, it seems to me that Drupal is made to order for you, perhaps with one exception: the commerce/auction system. Drupal is rapidly making headway on this front, but is probably not ready for prime time on all fronts when it comes to robust ecommerce. Either way, best of luck, and perhaps consider adding that one component last.

Hi drupalot, Really original name for a Drupal Site. I just wanted to advise you to set some security module due to spam or hackers risk. I would suggest Captcha.module at list.

Cheers
