If i am able to add information/description for this page it will be much more useful rather than on default index page which in this case I have disabled. targeted index pages are more useful to add more live to some modules.
The major problem with the Drupal record is that it always assumes that the person who post the recode is actually the main author. It does not leave the room for Original Author of the record. In many cases the Admin is the sole author and post wide range of records written by others.

nancydruI am not sure what you're asking for here. Do you want a text field that will be displayed at the top of the page, with the ability to specify a different text for each content type?
As for the author, what I do is to open the "Authoring information" fieldset and enter the real author's name.
It is true that the module currently shows whoever is considered the current author, but revisions enabled, the original author is available, so I could probably find a way to get it.

droshani commentedSorry If I was unclear there. What I was try to say was, your index page does not allow my to add any description to it, which might appears at the top or bottom of the data you are representing. This way the page has more information for users to view.
My reference to author was the general drawback in Drupal posting. At the moment I have to add the original authors name in the content which make it impossible to refer a record to a original author.

nancydruAdding the text shouldn't be hard, so I'll look at that.
With revisions turned on, I can probably go back and find the original author. I don't know how much value there is.

nancydruCommitted to both branches. It should be in the -dev versions that roll up at Midnight GMT. Please test it and let me know if it does what you want.
There are new options on the settings page. Under each content type there is now a textarea for entering text to be placed at the top of the page; this text has the "indexpage_description" class for theming.
You may also now get counts of the number of nodes and nodes within each vocabulary and term.
There is a new option for the "Include extra fields..." choices. This will show a list of all the authors of a node, with the most recent first.
