Need snippet for thumbnailed results using core search module

Can anyone possibly provide a snippet to put in my template.php file that will customize the search results to show only thumbnails in a grid array?

I am running D5.7 and image 5.x-1.9.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!
