Hi,
I have some problems with the right column in IE6. IE7 and FF2.x/3 is working fine, but in IE6 the right column is displayed below the main content. I've tried the "fix" described in another support request here, but that only made things worse. :)
Is this a "by design" flaw, or is it a bug that you might be able to fix?
Thanks in advance!

jbergeron commentedI am having the same problem with IE6. The main content area div is appearing below the left column. I have tried reducing the width and floating right with no success.

Alan Cooney commentedSure, a 2.0.x version of this theme is on its way.

bhuddle commentedGlad to hear a fix is on the way, because for about two weeks a module that will hopefully be a primary part of my site has been displaying at the bottom and not on the right, and I've spent all that time trying to figure out what is wrong, and eventually I thought it might be the theme and, yes it turns its a known bug with Forest Floor and the right column is sometimes displayed wrong.
I really admire everyone who contributes and writes code and applications and modules and themes, but holy crap - one minor thing can really ruin two weeks of work and lead to a lot of hair-pulling.
I'm starting to think that Drupal is really more of a hobby for all its enthusiasts rather than a practical solution for people who want to get things done.
Its the autocomplete node finder that I really want to use, but when I try to place it in a block on the right, because I'm using Forest Floor, it displays at the bottom of every page I want to use it on. Now I find out its a known bug with Forest Floor that's causing this.
And what the hell is up with every theme having all this space on the outside? Outside the columns/bar/whatever - I'm sorry I can't talk the jargon.
For all the time I've wasted trying to get the amazing, open source, sooo-flexible CMS system Drupal to work, I should have gotten a second job to earn the extra money to buy some stable, reliable, commercial product (not that I know such a thing exists that would do what I want). Jeez...
Sorry for ranting here. Forest Floor is a lovely theme if you know how all 500+ Drupal modules and whatever else might be effected by it, I guess.

bhuddle commentedHere's a practical question: the Forest Floor project page a two column, one column, and a no column view of Forest Floor. Are these different versions that I would have to install separately? I don't see an option to change between these "versions" or whatever. One column might work for me, but I seem to only have the two column version available to me.

Alan Cooney commentedThe columns automatically disable themselves if they have no blocks inside of them, so all you need to do to disable one is remove all the blocks from it.
Anyway, I've fixed this bug in the x.x-1.5 versions and also sorted out the code so that it is much easer for third parties to edit.

bhuddle commentedThanks for the tip about how if I don't have blocks in a column, they are then disabled. That probably saved me about three weeks of reading the forums until I figured it out for myself.

bhuddle commentedOf course, even after I installed the updated Forest Floor theme, I still am having right column problems with the Autocomplete Node Finder module. But I have GOT to cut my effing losses here. Two months and I have barely done maybe a fourth of the basic stuff that I understood to be so simple with Drupal. I could work on my site for two weeks because of Thanksgiving and a death in the family, and I get back and there are like three module updates and a core security update I had to navigate through, and I think I still don't have the core updated completely, and, what, Drupal 7 is coming down the pike and so I'll have to go through updating everything again and tweaking it all one more time (like learning how to use my own image with the new Forest Floor theme, so I'll dig through my 30 pages of notes to see if I hopefully specified how I put my own image there). Jeez. Yes, Drupal seems to be a great set of tools, but its like in Brazil - everyone is switch from metric to english on different schedules and without letting anyone else know.
