Has anybody thought about adding coder checks for the new Views and CCK functions?

I think these would be a very useful addition as so many modules use the existing functions and will need to be updated very soon.

Yes, it's been thought of. I even discussed it with KarenS at Barcelona. But you'd need to get someone on either of those module teams to write the reviews using hook_reviews.
