Xapian and views - help needed

Thanks for the interesting module.

On my site I have the standard drupal search module and views_fastsearch to provide search functionality with exposed filters using the views module. However I started to look around for a better solution. This is how I came across Xapian.

I have installed this module and indexed the site. Everything seems to work all right. However I would need some help with views integration. I am not sure what would be the best way to make my fastsearch view work with Xapian rather then with the standard search. I have seen the sample code provided with Xapian but I am not sure where to start. Any indications would be highly appreciated.
