The search seems to pick up terms in the content of docs when the permission to 'view full text ' is given. Is it ppossible not to give this permission to view full text(ie.hide full text from user) and still get the content indexed?

rares commentedThe permission 'view ipaper full text' is only for users. Cron and the search script will index the full text regardless of how you set up permissions.
nirvanajyothi commentedok...so even if the cron and search indexes the text it wont be displayed to user withoout 'view ipaper full text' permissions rite?
Is it possible not to display the text under the doc ,but display it in search results?
(no matter how the permissions need to be set)
rares commentedI think the 'view full text' permission is rather useless right now, because nobody wants to actually read that text, but most site owners want that included in the search index and in search engines. I think in the next release the text will be included in the pages by default, using a tag.
I initially thought it would be worthwhile to have run an agent detection and display the text only to search engine crawlers, but this is not a good idea since it would be considered cloaking and would likely lead the site to be blacklisted.

nirvanajyothi commentedI dont know whether it be cloaking as the content is present in the ppts and we just made it 'indexable'?
Thank you rares.
rares commentedthat's what I though too, but I just read up on the google webmaster help and it's considered cloaking if you 'serve flash to users and HTML to GoogleBot'. so, the source code of the page needs to be identical regardless of user agent.

nirvanajyothi commentedok.Thank you.
Then,Can we add a link under the Ipaper window to 'View full text' and keep it collapsed until the user clicks on it ...and when the user does that the text is made visible under the iPaper itself(as it is now).
(like what we do to menu with dhtml menu module)
Thiswill make the iPaper page more aesthetic.
nirvanajyothi commentedJust keeping it open so that you ay notice.
Please close it when you have you have seen this.
Thank you

rares commentedA new version is coming out tonight that will index all the text and display it to users in tags based on an option in the administration menu.
