as soon as I check the 'Categorize questions' check box (at /admin/settings/faq/categories) noone can see the FAQs (regardless of the access privileges setting).

stella commentedYou need to create a FAQ vocabulary and create terms in it. Then you need to associate each FAQ node with one of the terms from your FAQ vocabulary. You also need to ensure that your FAQ vocabulary is _not_ selected in the list of categories to omit under the "Advanced Settings" collapsed fieldset on admin/settings/faq/categories.
If you have a taxonomy based access control module enabled (e.g. TAC, TAC Lite), you need to ensure that the vocab has the correct permissions so users can see nodes associated with those terms.

Stella

Renee S commentedI have a similar concern. The FAQ categories over-ride my taxonomy terms, so that if enabled I see, for example, "resume" as a link to /faq/223; if I turn it off, I get /career/work/resume. I want questions categorized with my common site taxonomy, but I want that taxonomy linked to in my posts instead of the FAQ list. Is this possible?

stella commentedz allen: I think is an entirely different issue to the one posted above. I think really you meant to follow up on issue #304210: Categorization messes with tag links

Renee S commentedYes indeed. Thanks.

yak commentedI've read a myriad of posts all addressing the same issue of categorized questions within FAQs. I've followed each and attempted to troubleshoot. I've confirmed that I have taxonomy and FAQ enabled. I also have FAQ vocabulary and created terms in it. I also associated each FAQ node with one of the terms in FAQ vocabulary. I also checked that FAQ vocabulary is _not_ selected in the list of categories to omit under the "Advanced Settings" (it is listed in the omit box but not highlighted or selected).
I can not get FAQ to group by categories or display when "categorize questions" is selected. This is very frustrating and taking lots of time to resolve what seems like a simple issue--and common. Any help would be welcome.
