Description

I'm new to Drupal and recently installed Drupal 6 and I'd like to suggest a revision or change to the documentation regarding permissions. More specifically, the documentation found here http://drupal.org/getting-started/6/install/set-permissions

I kept getting an error message stating that the "sites/default/files does not exist ..."

Thanks to one of the posters from the Drupal Support Community forum, I resolved this issue by

1. Making a folder called 'files' in the sites/default folder
2. Setting the permissions to 777

More details on this can be found here
http://drupal.org/node/285988

I suggest revising the documentation to include these two steps.

@SurfKauai07: I wanted to say that this was a really nicely written issue, especially for someone who is new to Drupal. I really appreciate you taking the time to post a well thought out issue for us.
