Possible to use output of views field data as input of cck field?

Hi all,

I input an ISBN into a content type using node import. Then I created a view to output the ISBN, using php in the views page to eliminate the dashes and now I want to input it into a ASIN cck field. I've looked at documentation on hooks, but I'm not sure I'm on the right track.

Advice?
