Hi all,
I was reading a post here http://drupal.org/node/29268 which describes how to increase php memory for drupal. Is there any side effects of increasing php memory? How is by default low when increasing it is a good option?

Is it like, the higher the memory, the lower the number of connections php can handle simultaneously?

Please give me you insights.

Also, this module http://drupal.org/project/fast_gallery requires me to increase the php memory to 96M. Isnt this too high? Is this normal? What implication does it have on traffic/performance? Your helpful insights please.
