Last post "by Anonymous" instead of normal user

Hi,

I've installed alpha10 version for Drupal 5 and on the forum index in a "Last post" column it is showing that last post was "by Anonymous" even though it is not. Pretty weird, but I'm thinking it might have something to do with the modifications done from here: http://drupal.org/node/268273

I have an alpha8 running alright on another site so I'm thinking of using that on this one as well, unless there's a way to have this fixed easily or quickly. I can modify code where needed until the release if necessary.
