This is in a similar vein to the "Cave your trolls" feature request, in that you don't actively ban a troll but you prevent him from disrupting things. There is a mod for phpBB that describes the features I'm thinking of, but basically the idea is to make things fail for the troll that gives them the idea that the site is too buggy to waste time with. For example, logins are only successful 25% of the time, and postings either fail with an innocuous-looking error, or (again 25% of the time) appear to go through, but are silently discarded. Importantly, troll status is set with a cookie or IP so that they get the same experience whether they're logged in or not. I personally think this would be a great addition to the toolset.

I believe this is already a feature of the module, the logic is just inverted: the admins using this module will get a horrible, unexpected, bugged experience with this module.

At least without heavy patching and praying.
