I´m a newbie and my idea is to create a website where I can show videos that I made (I´m a filmmaker), either uploading directly or embedding to youtube or other sites.
I just uploaded "video filter" and while I checked the the box in the administer page, I don´t see how to actually upload the videos. I entered the embed code on youtube and nothing happened.
Is there a step by step guide on how to embed or upload video? Am I missing a step, or is there code that I need to learn?

Check out this screencast...
If you just want to embed the video from youtube, the easiest way is to grab the embed code off of youtube, and pop it into a story or page node, then use the full html filter. Easy peasy. If you want to upload your own video to your own site, check out this screencast...
