Learning Drupal 6
I would recommend getting 'Learning Drupal 6 Module Development'.
It's a great tool that gives you everything you need to know about creating modules.
where is that?

Was actually looking for somethign free and online....

There's some great resources
There's some great resources here at Drupal.org, check out Module developer's guide first, there's a lot of good top-level tutorials and walk-throughs there. Chances are you're looking for Drupal 6 tutorials specifically, and you can find those in a child page here: Creating Drupal 6.x Modules handbook page.
There's also several screencasts if you're more of a visual learner. Check out Development How-to, which is a wiki page where people have listed a decent set of videos. I've put together a series on module development, and have the free videos listed on this handbook page: Build a Module in Drupal 6 Multi-part Video Series. There's some good free stuff out there, you just have to dig around a bit to find it. :)
Cheers,
Chris
