Description

Just a small question, are there any plans for a port to Drupal 6? I would love to see that happen!

Title:Port to D6?» Port to D6 Done

Hi, I am not the module author but I have done a port of this module, without the admin interface (since it seems kind of redundant; you just have to disable the module if you do not want to enable customisations) and a change in the permissions available.

I also extended the module's functionality to use the custom css on all of that particular user's nodes.

Note that as with the original version, uninstall does not remove created files. The directory has to be removed manually.

I am not the maintainer of this module, and I don't know what he would prefer, but it is customary to post a patch for review:

ya I know about patches but I do not have a program for that and I personally have had problems applying patches in the past, I am only doing ports for my own installation and posting them in case someone needs it so if a patch is required, I would appreciate any help in creating one and posting it...

The link I provide above has plenty of documentation, including a list of software you can use, which depends on whether you use a proprietary OS or an Open Source one. Check the documentation.

If anyone is using the package I provided above, you may like to add drupal_clear_css_cache(); to the submit operation within hook_user to ensure that the user created css file gets applied.

I like the idea behind this module. In the beginning days of my Drupal experience I wanted something like this for my site. What I think would be a great idea for this module would be to have a drop down list of custom created css file templates users on my site could pick from, since most users on my site will not even know what css is. Within that drop down box there could be a label that reads Custom Background. If a user selects Custom Background, then an edit box pops up where they can input in their custom css code or link. Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't Admin control be needed to just deactivate one particular users possible bad css file that is blowing out the site parameter for design. I have seen Myspace profiles that just go a football field to the right etc. Some tighter control is needed when allowing users to use custom css files etc. This is why I would prefer the preselected css file template approach. Maybe allow the trusted user types that have been preassigned to have more control with the custom background label. Correct me if I am completely wrong with this thinking, I am still learning. Also I would love to check out some sites using this module to look at their profiles to see how it impact the overall site designs etc, links appreciated please, thanks
