Placing modules on Front Page (center)

I have the countdown timer module and I'm looking to place a password box under it so unless the visitor has the password they wont be given access to the site. If possible, I don't want a username field at all, just password. Is there any module for this? And also, how do I get the modules on the front page and position it so they are in the center of the page??
