Description

The development snapshot isn't complete and there are still compatibility problems with Drupal 6. I have done a complete working (at least for me) port of the module with comments, coding standards, proper translation strings and page handlers. This package also includes a Live ID icon beside the login link and a small edit to the library file such that all login and logout are passed through a secure url.

Also improved is the PHP memory usage of the module. It used to take up almost 250,000 bytes but I have got it reduced to only around 23,000 bytes. I have not tested it extensively so if anyone has problems, do report it, thanks.

When installing from this zip file, remember to upload your own Application-Key.xml and change the address to this file appropriately.

I have download and tried your module without any readme or manual file. Would you please tell me which return url should I set in the windows live id application? Or that would be best if you could write a brief manual here, thanks!!!

Hi, the instructions are the same as the official release for Drupal 5. You can get the Application-Key file from that download as well. If you upload it to a different directory, change it on line 160 of winliveid.module

Weird... I added a feature request yesterday for this module and it seems to have been removed... any reasons why?

I previously tried to post some suggestions here but somehow they went missing. Anyway here they are:

I have enabled both the OpenID and this Windows Live ID module at my Drupal test site. It works like a charm!

What I noticed however, is that the text "Log in using OpenID" link appears in bold just under the "LOG IN" button at my Drupal Site. On the other hand, the text "Log in with Windows Live ID" appears with normal typeface (not bold) just under the "Request a new password" link.

I suggest that the Windows Live ID module should follow the same format as the OpenID module. That is, to have the link in bold, just after the LOG IN button, and saying "Log in using Windows Live ID" (see attachment).

However I realise that the author of this module, as well other users, might preffer that it is the OpenID module that should change instead. Fair enough it is a valid point. But if that is the case, could I please get some guidance on how to change the position of the log-in link so it is displayed along with the OpenID log-in link (just under the LOG IN button)?

Thank you for your time and I hope my suggestions were useful somehow.

Cheers,
P.

Hi, actually the formatting is all done in your theme, i do not remember having to alter any code for both links to look alike.

Thank you for letting me know. I just need to learn how do do this change then. I just started with Drupal and my background is from other CMS systems. If you can point me at the right direction on how to do the same as you did in that GIF file you uploaded, that would be brilliant!

Thank you.
P.
